Survey on Sexual Harassment and Misconduct in Visual Arts in Finland

8.11.2017

The online magazine Taiteilija (The Artist) conducts a survey on sexual harassment and misconduct in Finnish visual arts. The #MeToo and #NotSurprised campaigns have raised awareness within the field of visual arts of these serious problems. We ask in this survey if visual artists residing and working in Finland are confronted with sexual harassment and misconduct.

According to Finnish legislation sexual harassment is a form of discrimination. It involves unwanted and unwelcomed verbal and non-verbal or physical behavior that make the target feel uncomfortable.

Sexual misconduct is a crime in Finland. It involves physical contact of sexual nature used to obtain sexual gratification against the target’s will on/and without consent.

The survey is anonymous and only takes a few minutes to complete. The survey remains open till Monday 13.11.2017. The results will be published online at www.taiteilijalehti.fi.
